New and Lost. [May. 13th, 2009|08:55 pm]

b_l_s_sdmf
Name: Karen
Age: 21
Area you're from (state/country): So. Illinois.
How long you've been practicing: Well... I'm not. I am still searching for the religion that is right for me and I know it is along these lines but I can't seem to find what works for me.

Path you're on (e.g. Christian Witch, Christian Wicca, etc.):
As stated above I'm not really on a path. It just seems like I'm... well I don't know.

What you hope to gain from this group: Further my education in witchcraft so that hopefully I can find what works for me.

Hope everyone is having a pleasant night. A big storm front is about to come and I can't wait to go outside and enjoy it.

Concrete, Chicken and Ants? What does that have to do with Tarot? Everything if you are paying attention!

Name:  Dawn

Age:  35

Area you're from (state/country):  Northern Indiana

How long you've been practicing:  I have been a Christian all my life, I have only recently added witchcraft to the way I practice my faith.

Path you're on (e.g. Christian Witch, Christian Wicca, etc.):

I am a Christian Witch.  I have been a Christian for quite some time, but didn't really feel complete.  I was never really able to find an organized religion that matched my personal beliefs.  So I was left...seeking.  I did a lot of reading and felt really good about Wicca, but some well-meaning Christian friends informed me I was endangering my eternal soul.  I had only just begun my magickal journey and was easily swayed away from what I now consider to be my true path, that of the Christian Witch.  I have some very natural witchy tendencies and find merging my natural witchy-ness with my Christian faith to be fulfilling spiritually.

What you hope to gain from this group:  I do feel like I'm floundering a bit as I don't know enough about witchcraft and I don't know any other Christian Witches.   I am looking for support, guidance, understanding, and information.

Quite often, I get this question:

"What would you suggest to a beginner who wants to learn to read the tarot?"

And my first answer would be....

I just posted a blog titled "Intuitive Tarot: The Morning Lesson." This is for those who might like to see how I teach my intuitive tarot class. It is an expansion of one of the exercises. I hope you will let me know what you think of it. Would love to hear about your own ways of learning a new deck.

Darn Those Fives Anyway! [Jul. 2nd, 2008|06:42 pm]

Fives! Why do I keep pulling fives? Not just of one suit either? See there is a blog I enjoy that does a "Pick A Card For The Week". Tarot Table Talk by Susan Gold posts 6 cards each week and asks you the reader to pick one based on the look of the card. For the past two weeks I've picked Fives.

Come chat about fives with me on my blog if you like. Tarot By Arwen

One thing I've been doing on my blog is spotlighting/reviewing other Tarot blogs. I'm doing these on Saturdays. If you would like to be on the list of sites, let me know!

Today's is on Chris Butler who is the artist of the upcoming Quantum Tarot. He is also working on another deck and this is the blog I visited.

WANTED:Coven Members [May. 3rd, 2008|05:36 pm]

Hi all,
I don't know if this has been done before, but I am looking for a group of people who would be interested in setting up a virtual coven, I would not classify myself as a Wiccan, more Pagan, but I do celebrate the sabbats and am an avid tarot reader.  I would like to set up an online community to discuss all things wiccan/pagan/new age, and perhaps this could eventually become a virtual coven tapping into the group psyche to perform spells/divinations etc.

If you are interested please post a comment, stating your age, location, sex, any special skills e.g. scrying/herbcraft etc and I will message you privately, Thanks.

I am delighted to announce the arrival of not only a new Tarot Reflections, but also a new Tarot Reflections editor! Shari pledges to have Tarot Reflections online every month. I hope you will give her feedback on her inaugural issue as well as submit your own articles.

I love the new Reflections piece where different voices are given the chance to speak out on the Tarot! My own article on the Tarot Top Five is there (many of you participated in the survey that sparked that article).
